Sun Cruises was owned and operated by Airtours Plc. and offered high quality, affordable cruising. Style was largely informal and a fun related atmosphere was encouraged and prevailed on board. Like Airtours itself, Sun Cruises was founded to provide intending British holiday makers with inexpensive air and sea vacation packages at affordable rates. Carnival Cruise Lines, who bill themselves as the most popular cruise line in the world, owned about a third of Sun Cruises' operation.
