Private Bar Attendant Job Description and Duties:

Cruies ship private bar attendant

- Reports to the ship's Assistant Bar Manager and to the Beverage Director

- Directly responsible for the passengers' cabin (stateroom) private bars

- Inspects the staterooms on daily basis and would ensure that all private bars are properly stocked and replenished as per the par levels

- The Private Bar Attendant is also responsible for ordering, delivery, placement and rotation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage items

- Follows company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene and ensures that the stock and service carts/ cabinets are well organized, clean and sanitized according to the cruise line standards and USPH and/or UKPH rules

- Must be familiar with the cruise ship's onboard point of sale system and ensures that passengers' on board accounts are charged for the consumed beverage products

- Addresses passenger complaints reporting them to the Bar Manager and works in a positive and polite manner to resolve problems

- Participates in courses, meetings and training programs organized by the cruise line in order to develop the necessary skills needed for promotion to superior level position(s)



Private Bar Attendant Job Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or basic education equivalent

  • Minimum one year of beverage related experience or training in a hotel, bar, pub, night club, resort, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Excellent communication skills and good command of the English language, knowledge of additional languages is a plus

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment


Private Bar Attendant Salary Range:


$1600-1800 U.S. per month depending on the cruise line, size of ship and gratuities from passengers. Possibilities for promotion to Bar Server position.
