Cruise (Entertainment) Staff  Job Description, Requirements and salary Range

Each major cruise line has its own private island or a resort in the Caribbean: Disney Cruise Line - Castaway Cay, Holland America Line - Half Moon Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line - Great Stirrup Cay, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises - CocoCay and Labadee, MSC Cruises - Cayo Levantado and Costa Cruises - Catalina Island. Cruise lines are using these resorts as ports of call on their Caribbean itineraries (there is no need to pay port taxes and passengers' money do not go to local ports for shopping and entertainment, but rather are spent on the ship for this day of the cruise). Having an own resort also is a question of prestige for the cruise operators. Princess Cays, unlike most of the other cruise lines private resorts is not a separate island, but a nice isolated beach located in the southern part of Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. The ship anchors several hundred meters from the beach and all passengers and crew are transported to the resort and back to the ship by tender boats. All food, drinks and serving staff for the beach barbeque are also brought from the ship. Except the usual beach activities there is not much to see in these resorts, the good part is that crew and staff members who are not on duty can enjoy a day on the beach without spendig a penny - no expenses for transportation to the beach, food etc.
