Chief Accountant / Crew Officer
This position works 4 months onboard with 2 months vacation. The person in this position acts as Chief Accountant for 2 months and acts as Crew Officer for 2 months.
POSITION SUMMARY (Chief Accountant)
The Chief Accountant’s primary responsibility is to manage all of the financial operations of the vessel, ensures the quality of our product is held to the highest standard for Residents, Guests, and Crew; ensures internal controls and procedures are adhered to in the safeguarding of assets including cash, inventory, equipment, and purchasing transactions.
This includes all practices, procedures, training, Resident and Guest satisfaction levels. A procedural approach to managing the entire Finance department must be employed, utilizing modern management principles as well as incorporating technological innovations where practical.
POSITION SUMMARY (Crew Officer)
This Crew Officer’s position is responsible for 3 main scopes of work as part of the Human Resources Department:
1) Crew Administration – Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of Crew information including dates of Contracts, Passports, Visas, Seaman’s Books or any other current of future documentation required.
2) Crew Clearance – Responsible for the well-being and comfort of the Crew Members arrival and departure including proper documentation preparation and/or request of tickets, traveling visas and hotel accommodation (when necessary)
3) Payroll – Administers the Payroll Process for all Crew Members
The Crew Officer must abide by all Human Resources principles and objectives, as described by The World standards and procedures including the Confidentiality Agreement. He/She must ensure that all interactions with all Crew Members are done in a professional and courteous manner.
Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Chief Purser, Front Office Manager, Hotel Controller and/or Crew Purser on an ultra luxury cruise ship, private club, boutique hotel, ultra luxury hotel or resort.
Solid progression through Financial ranks
Understands how to establish and maintain proper inventories
Working knowledge of point of sales systems, inventory management systems, Fidelio and additional controlling systems.
Actively support the company’s mission statement and goals; Ability to conceptualize the mission
Communicate the goals and objectives and inspire Crewmembers to achieve those goals
Ability to manage change effectively
Provide leadership in order to help their departments achieve their goals and objectives
Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
Experience making presentations in front of groups
