Show Dancers


Production show dancers are required to have a strong technical training in ballet and jazz with adaptable and versatile styles and performance qualities to perform in Carnivals high-energy shows. An fun, upbeat outgoing personality is essential as dancers are also required to assist the cruise director in coordinating shipboard activities that are a popular part of the Fun Ship vacation experience. Show dancers perform in completely different Las Vegas-style shows twice nightly two nights per cruise. Dancers must attend weekly rehearsals for each show, as well as assist the dance captain to teach choreography during cast changeovers. Dancers must also assist with upkeep of their assigned costumes and maintain a high standard of personal appearance in all work-related areas.

Prospective Carnival dancers should be dressed in tight-fitting dance attire; technical exercises and contrasting combination will be taught at the audition.

Should interested participants be unable to attend an audition, material may be submitted for consideration in online videos, VHS or DVD format, five to seven minutes in length (please note that materials cannot be returned). Dancer submissions should include a variety of different styles that displays dancers performance and technical abilities. This information should be clearly identified on the video.

Candidates must be 18 years of age and older and dancers are employed on a six- and to nine-month contract. Carnival Cruise Lines hires dancers on a year round basis, so please check the Carnival entertainment Web site periodically for future audition schedules.
