The Gig:

This position will begin in the shipyard in Genoa and then onboard our beautiful Scarlet Lady at Sea. This ‘someone’ will be the Watch Keeping leader and will primarily be responsible for all of the Engine Control Room activities.

In other words, this ‘someone’ needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won’t be able to remember how we got by without you.

What You’ll be Up To:

- Oversee the watchkeeping quality of other watchkeeping Engineers based on parameters, trends, and graphs

- Responsible for acting upon hotel related issues requiring immediate attention and delegate repairs as needed

- Carries out a second person check with all record keeping documents that come from the Engine control room

- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Climeon System and all associated equipment

- Maintain an efficient alert watch in the Engine Control Room during assigned periods at port and at sea

- Carry out maintenance to assigned Technical Systems as designated by the Deputy Chief or Chief Engineer

- Mentoring and developing the education of Junior Watchkeepers

- Carry out and ensure handovers of the Watch to incoming Snr. Watchkeeping Officers are completed

- Attend landing and departure maneuvering when on Watch

- Ensuring that all technical equipment is in proper working conditions

Requirements:

Superpowers Required:

- Chief Engineer Unlimited COC

- Knowledge of Watchkeeping, Diesel Electrical Propulsion, Class specific propulsion motors, navigation, switchboard, and automation control

- Minimum of 3 years experience onboard a Passenger Ship

- All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position

- Strong written & verbal skills
