Description:

We are on the hunt for a super talented ‘someone’ who is ex-static about Electrical & Electronic equipment onboard.

This ‘someone’ is responsible for the preventative maintenance program for our lovely lady ship, Scarlet and will make sure that all equipment is maintained & the logs are up to date. Essentially, we’ll count on you to make sure our ship is lit!

In other words, this ‘someone’ needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won’t be able to remember how we got by without you.

What You’ll be Up To:

- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment onboard including the power plant and its main distribution, vessel automation systems, safety systems, elevators, galley equipment, navigation systems etc.

- Consults daily with the Chief Electrical Engineer to plan all work schedules relating to maintenance and repairs of all Electrical and Electronic equipment onboard ensuring safety compliance and completing maintenance records

- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Electrical plants and associated systems including Elevators, Navigation systems and Galley equipment

- Supervise and monitor Electrical Department ensuring safe working conditions and provide on the job training

- Prepares requisitions and spare parts, submitting them to Chief Electrical Engineer for approval

- Prepare appraisals for all Electrical crew and Ratings

- Ensure that planned maintenance assigned to their discipline is conducted and reported.

- Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as needed

- Ensures that the set standards are kept and crew members work according to their respective job descriptions

Requirements:

Superpowers Required:

- Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (COC)

- Degree or HND in Electronic Communications or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

- Certified and knowledge of Marine High Voltage

- Knowledge of MS Office and/or Computerised Maintenance System skills

- Minimum 3 years’ experience as 1st Electrical Officer onboard a Passenger Ship

- All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position

- Strong written & verbal skills
