2nd OfficerDescription: - The 2nd Officer is a part of the dual watch keeping system either as a Navigator or as a CO-Navigator. - Be familiar with the voyage plan and the Captain’s standing and specific orders. - The 2nd Officer shall serve as a tender driver as directed by Vice Captain or Chief Officer. - Assist in the preparation of the vessel’s passage plans, voyage report, daily position reports. - Responsible for the flags inventory and the maintenance of the bridge day signals. - Other responsibilities as assigned by the Master or the Vice Captain but not limited to the above. Employment type: Ocean - Mutual Notice Rotation: 12 Weeks Onboard / 12 Weeks Vacation Pension Scheme: Voluntary Pension Plan in effect after 12 months, consisting of a 7% contribution from the employer and minimum 2% from the employee. Seniority Merit: Starts 2nd year of employment Requirements: - Years of Service: Minimum of 1.5 years (3 sailing periods) as deck trainee, or equivalent position or experience. - Educational Requirements: Navigational watch certification meeting STCW '95 standard, section A-11/1 with equivalent Bahamian certificate. - Required Courses and Training: All STCW and SOLAS training that is required for the position.
