Role: Shipboard Human Resources Coordinator (Training) / Corporate Trainer

Salary: $2200US TAX FREE paid whilst shipboard only…so not paid in your vacation time
Contract: Circa 6 months on-board with no days off…welcome to ‘ship-life’!
Berthing: Shared ‘Staff’ cabin level – which has a bunk-bed style with one other person
Flights: You are responsible for your flight to the ship for the first contract and all subsequent flights (if you are not terminated or break contract) are provided by the company
Medical: You are responsible for the cost of a shipboard medical which is circa £400UK. If you fail this medical then your job offer is withdrawn
Visa: You are responsible for the cost of a US C1D visa - $162US currently and also a police check from your host country - £25. The cost of the visa is refunded to you when you board.

Acting as a ships ambassador, the role is involved with running training presentations and looking after the Crew Training Centre on-board. Supporting English language learning and working as an important HR function alongside the T&D Manager and HR Director, you will be the face of the company where Crew come to learn, vent, ask for advice and more:

Facilitation and delivery of all approved training courses including but not limited to: Hospitality, Orientation, STCW 95 including Crowd and Crisis Management and Vessel Familiarization Train the Trainer (after attending STAR Center TTT program), ESOL Training Programs, specific departmental trainings (Guest Service, Safety On-board, Leadership Development and more) and any new training programs that are being introduced, aboard all of the ships.
Monitor and maintain required level of spoken English onboard through regular English Evaluations, reporting as per set procedures and conducting ESOL classes
Day-to-Day running and administration of the Crew Training Center.
Attend and actively participate in bi-monthly safety meetings.
Represent the Corporate Training Department by being an active member of the Crew Recreation Committee as per procedure.
Coordinate the Star Employee of the Month as per procedure.
Contribute to in-house publications on a regular basis.
Maintain all Crew Training Center notice boards, and regularly updates schedules on public folders with regards to training and events.
Produce accurate and timely reports, and adhere to set standards for record keeping and other Corporate Training administration as per procedure.
Be the onboard Hospitality ambassador, leading by example at all times.
