Culinary Externship


As participants in a comprehensive practical and professional learning program, Culinary Externs are given a realistic job preview by being exposed to real-life situations onboard their assigned ship. The training provides the Extern with valuable shipboard experience and allows the Company to evaluate his/her performance in the event of a future employment opportunity. Externs are assigned to a particular Culinary department to learn the requirements and functions of that department under the supervision of the department head. They help prepare food within the assigned department, and help set up various food stations; assist in food procurement and requisitions; attend daily Chef meetings; learn the basics of USPH standards; and perform other duties as required.
