• Company: On-board, with a really brilliant 4* cruise line company…with many ships in their fleet

• Start date: Soon!
• Contract: 10 weeks on and 10 weeks off…yes this is pretty amazing (working 7 days a week when you are shipboard)
• Salary: $5871 US TAX FREE paid 12 months of the year (negotiable)
• Berthing: Single cabin
• Reporting to: The Hotel Director
• Flights: Free both ways
• Required: A US visa (circa £100UK) and 100% clearance on a shipboard medical (circa £350UK)

The Brilliant Role Overview

• Plan direct and execute all Facilities Maintenance and repair function for all guest areas, public areas and crew areas throughout the vessel in coordination with maintenance team measures concerning benefits based on established guidelines
• Responsible for the planning of all work orders regarding electrical, plumbing, upholstery, carpentry and refurbishment
• Direct the facilities function with staff of FM Cleaning Specialist, Ass. FM Cleaning Specialist, Cleaners, Horticulturist, Pool Attendants,
Dispatchers, Carpenters, Upholsterers, Repairmen and Electricians
• Review financial transactions and monitored budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations
• Supervised staff including administrative, housekeeping and maintenance


You will have a background in engineering from a large function. This could be a hotel with more than 250 rooms, a conference centre or a huge resort. Your background will be working in Chief Engineer role or Facilities Manager position previously and you will be a ‘hands-on’ leader with high attention to detail. You might even be a 1st or 2nd Engineer already working on a cruise ship and looking for a new opportunity outside of the ‘Engine Team’. Your personality will be sparkling and you will be able to host a table (if asked) and socialise / mingle with guests when at company functions.
You will not worry about working 7 days a week for 4+ months and the opportunity will most certainly excite your appetite to work on some of the best cruise liners in the wide world. You will have proven evidence in your CV of leading a team and will be able to motivate and energise the department through your effective management. Your communication skills will be brilliant. You will be willing to learn and adapt to ‘ship-life’ and enjoy a fast paced environment. More than likely you will have worked in Europe within a massive function
