Captain-River Cruise Vessel
Description:
Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage the ship independently, in accordance with existing laws and regulations
- Completing all tasks necessary for safe command of the vessel, including knowledge related to:
- Water levels
- Draught of the vessel
- Weather patterns
- Heights of bridges
- Ballasts
- Performing regular safety drills with the nautical crew
- Completing and controlling all necessary paperwork and documents, including:
- Attestations
- Certificates
- Licenses for technical equipment
- Crane books
- Maps
- Police regulations
- Maintaining safe storage of required papers in ship’s wheelhouse
- Ship’s log
- Night auditor’s log
- Registers of service
Etc.
- Ensuring that all logs are being completed and saved properly, including:
Ability to conduct yourself in a friendly and courteous manner to all guests and crew members
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 30 years old
- Written and spoken English and German
- Completed vocational training
- Valid master’s certificates
- Several years of work experience in a similar position within the shipping industry
