3rd Engineer


As the 3rd Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of machinery in the vessel’s engine room. You will utilize your maintenance and repair skills to work on various equipment and projects that are essential to the operation of the vessel.

Career snapshot:

• Monitors the safe and efficient operation of all propulsion and auxiliary systems inside the engine room in conjunction with the Engineer Watch Officer (EWO)

• Assists the Staff Chief Engineer and/or 2nd Engineer with the maintenance and repair of engine room machinery and equipment

• Assists the Hotel Maintenance Manager with the daily maintenance and repair of hotel equipment and refurbishment projects



• Graduate of Maritime Academy

• Licensed as Watch keeping Engineer in accordance with the STCW (Regulation III/1) convention issued by a country that has ratified the convention

• Ability to interpret ship's plans and prints, draw engineering plans and prepare job orders

• Ability to resolve problems and work without supervision

• Great communication skills in addition to a strong command of the English language

• All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable

• Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training


• Sailed 6 months as licensed officer

• Verbal fluency in additional languages such as German, Spanish or French
