3rd Engineer Officer


The Third Engineer Officer, as the Junior Officer of the Watch reporting to the Second Engineer Officer, is responsible for carrying out full and comprehensive watch-keeping rounds in all main machinery spaces. In addition they will ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the main machinery spaces; carry out routine logs as instructed; perform watch-keeping duties specific to vessel and particular watch as required; bring any engine room defects to the attention of the senior watch-keepers, remedy where possible, or report to relevant engineering staff; assess and take preliminary actions in a machinery space emergency.

Salary: Circa £26,000 - £31,000 (dependant on experience)


To be considered you should hold a 3rd Engineer Officer of the Watch Unlimited Certificate of Competency, issued by UK MCA or other approved nationality and STCW Basic Training, ideally to include Advanced Fire Fighting. You should have experience of operating and maintaining a variety of marine engineering systems, of working with diesel electric propulsion and have recent watch-keeping experience. You should also have experience of electronic planned maintenance systems (e.g. AMOS), supervisory experience, all preferably within the Cruise Ship industry,
