Financial Controller - Prestigious Cruise Line


We are currently recruiting for a Finance Controller, to be part of our Senior Management Team onboard reporting to the Hotel Manager. You will be responsible for providing & communicating financial management information to the Senior Management Team at committee meetings, to analyse stock usage, revenue generation and variance to targets. You will also be responsible for the management of the on board finance team, ensuring that they are compliant with company policies and procedures. You will regularly conduct audits and be responsible for the cash on board of up to £1 million.

As Finance Controller your main responsibilities will be:

- Play an integral part of the onboard Senior Management Team championing the financial agenda focusing on cost, revenue and stock – articulating and interpreting financial management information
- Managing the daily operational functioning of our property management system
- Produce accurate reporting of all end of cruise reports from our Property Management System
- Control of the main safe onboard and auditing various safe/cash holdings, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Analysis of onboard cost and revenue, including KPI’s, market analysis, Customer Service Questionnaire analysis & stock control
- Accurate recording and maintenance of stock control reports
- Seeking ways of making effective permanent cost savings, through extensive use of current on board reports
- Assisting the Executive Purser in enforcing stock levels held on board in all hotel areas
- Liaise with the finance department shore side
- Responsibilities for Safety Duties in a emergency situations

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role you must have:

- Experience working for another Cruise Line of within a large 4or 5 * Hotel operation
- Worked as part of a Senior Management Team communicating financial information
- Experience in operating a Property Management system
- In depth knowledge & understanding of stock take procedures and stores control and conducting audits
- Advanced Excel skills
- Cash handling experience
- Team management experience
- Be Part Qualified/ QBE Accountant

However, life onboard does mean working 10 hour days, 7 days a week for the duration of your time aboard. The 10 hour working day will generally be worked between 7:00 and 21:00.
