Star Clippers Cruises' Star Flyer tall ship - Hong Island, Andaman Sea

This picture has been taken by Star Clippers Cruises crew member on Hong Island, Thailand. The ship (Star Flyer) is at anchor and passengers and crew are transported to the island by a local tender. The classic tall ship Star Flyer sailed the Andaman Sea for a number of years, stopping at various islands in Thailand and Malaysia. On a typical cruise, the ship relies exclusively on sail power and will use motor power only when necessary. Star Clippers are not cruise ships in the ordinary sense with strict agendas and pages of activities. Crew members are happy to demonstrate how to splice a line, reef a sail, or tie a proper knot. Although, these are luxury tall ships offering all conveniences, there isn't a casino or any other standard form of entertainment aboard. Except the Deck & Engine officers and the sailors, the cruise line is hiring Dive Instructors, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping and Spa personnel.
