Youth Coordinator-6 star Mega Yacht




Description:

• Role: Youth Coordinator
• Working with: Most of the time with the tweens and teens. (but will also work with any children onboard at some point).
• Dates: May 28th - September 2nd
• Berthing: Shared cabin with one other
• Salary: $2,330US Tax Free monthly pro-rated for whatever time spent onboard

The Youth Coordinator must safely manage the onboard children’s programs and activities for both day and evening including art projects and games. In order to consistently exceed Guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

• Exceed Guest expectations of the Youth Program.
• Communicate with Guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Set a positive example and act as a leader at all times.
• Create, plan and oversee the activities of children between the ages of 5 and 17.
• Ensure Youth Program is carried out as per the Youth Program guidelines.
• Keep account of time spent supervising and caring for each child as Youth Coordinator.
• Actively participate in trainings provided by the company including cross training opportunities.
• Attends meetings held by the Cruise Director.
• Supports Interns and offers assistance to them throughout their Internship.
• Ensure that cleaning schedules are in place and being followed in assigned areas.
• Complete daily walk-through of the Craft Room to ensure cleanliness.
• Conduct weekly Public Health inspections of working areas.
• Ensure reports are completed and submitted on time.
• Regularly communicate with the Cruise Director regarding the Youth Program.
• Submit information for the onboard publications in a timely manner.
• Submit work orders through Fidelio for repairs and follow up to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct inventories on a monthly basis in accordance with the SOP; develop and maintain par stocks for assigned area.
• Assist management with training and induction of new personnel.
• Acknowledge Guest’s preferences and ensure all changes are communicated to the team.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency at all times while on duty and offer assistance to others around him/her without hesitation.
• Give suggestions to the Manager on how to enhance the product and participate in the ongoing creation of SOP’s.
• Assist in achieving the budgets by minimizing waste and breakage and maintaining proper handling procedures.
• Actively supports the goals for the department as well as the company as a whole to ensure high quality and consistent service; Implement new policies and company initiatives as assigned.
• Ensure that all areas are maintained in accordance with Company policy, Public Health (HACCP), SMS, safety and environmental regulations.
• Abide by the code of conduct.
• Continually reviews the company’s strategic plan, audit sheets, goals and checklists daily.
• Continue own education by staying abreast of trends and sharing this information with the team.
• Ensure that all working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully on his/her timesheet for each time period worked.
• Assist with Ship tours when required.

Requirements:

You will be currently or previously working onboard a fabulous cruise liner in a ‘Youth Staff’ role. Alternatively you might be working at a junior school or with teens in a youth group / arena. You will be able to evidence all of your background checks and if needs source additional police certificates. You will be exceptionally well presented and with a big smile, super personality and experienced to work with young people (tweens and teens!) where you are creative in bringing games, adventures, activities and more to the party. You will be able to read, write and speak fluent English…and one other language (German, French, Italian, Spanish or Japanese) is preferred. Stress will be ‘water off a ducks back’ for you and you will have great IT savvy with spreadsheets, WORD, Excel and Outlook too.

You will have super references from your previous cruise line / yacht experiences too. You will be happy to work 7 days a week for your contracted period of circa 10 weeks onboard too! Please kindly ensure you have your Skype ID on your resume when you send it through to me, thanks.

• BA/BS 3-4 year degree or foreign equivalency in Early Childhood Education or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Youth Coordinator or similar position.
• Experience on an ultra-luxury cruise ship, private club, boutique hotel, ultra-luxury hotel or resort preferred.
• Courses or training in safety, environmental, Public Health regulations required.
• First Aid and CPR Certifications.
