Deputy Cruise Director

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Entertainment Manager to join our on board team immediately.

Our Deputy Cruise Director is responsible for supporting our Cruise Director in ensuring the delivery of entertaining, professional and informative on board entertainment programs which create lifelong memories for our guests.

Key responsibilities include:

- Day to day management and leadership of the on board entertainment department, providing coaching, guidance and instigating corrective action as required
- Be a ‘face’ of the entertainment department by personally hosting an array of events and activities and dedicating a portion of each day to guest interaction
- Acknowledging guest requests and responding promptly to resolve any service request concerns, following up with guests as appropriate and escalating to management as required
- Assist the Cruise Director in managing and controlling department costs and inventory levels, including cruise and youth staff consumables and passenger prizes

You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural environment where you will meet people that will be friends for life, travel to stunning locations ‘like no place on earth’.

Contracts are for four months duration with two months leave in between assignments. The salary is competitive and flights, medical cover and uniforms are provided.


Our ideal candidate will bring:

- Extensive experience within the entertainment industry hosting a variety of events and engaging with large crowds
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with experience overseeing a diverse entertainment team – ideally within a cruise, hospitality or tourist attraction environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, with an outgoing, warm, charismatic and at times cheeky personality; an ability to tailor style to suit the audience
- Sound communication skills, with a strong command of written and spoken English
- A genuine commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to formulate improvement plans when required

Please note that company employees are required to be at least 21 years old, possess a current unrestricted passport (valid for at least a year) and international applicants eligible to apply for an Australian Maritime Crew Visa (MCV) and Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). All crew members are required to successfully clear an ENG1 Medical before commencing onboard.
