Description:

The Show Host keeps the party going. From sporting events to trivia and bingo, the Show Host is the life of the party. You have to love to interact with guests and make each person feel important. In the evenings after our production shows you get to show off your D.J. skills in our nightclub.

The Cruise Line provides the following compensation:

- Roundtrip flights, pre-embarkation hotel and ground transportation to the ship. Staff depart one to two days prior to their scheduled date of embarkation.
- On board accommodations.
- All meals to be taken in the guests’ restaurant Lido Café.
- Complementary laundry services.
- All on board medical services provided and paid for by HAL. (Shore side medical attention is at the employee’s expense).
- Most uniform pieces, (white tennis shoes and a brown leather belt are supplied by the employee)

Requirements:

Required Skills

- Provide (on your own) a variety of the highest quality music for our guests in the nightclub from the 50’s to today, on deck and on the island.
- Act as co-host with CD, and emcee in the absence of the CD as needed
- Host music related trivia, Bingo and Karaoke.
- Perform with enthusiasm and treat each performance as a show.
- Arrive early and prepared for each performance and event.
- Keep the DJ booth clean and presentable.
- Actively DJ and perform guest requests if appropriate and possible. Ensure volume is acceptable.
- Provide interesting filler between songs, introduce numbers, and promote other venues and events throughout the ship.

Required Experience

- Previous public speaking or hospitality.
- Previous hosting experience preferred.
- Strong socializing skills.
- Possesses at least a basic knowledge of food & wine.
- Ability to relocate, live and work onboard with coworkers for 4+ months.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle constantly changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Possesses a strong command of the English language.
- Additional languages preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
