Description:

The Bartender must posses:

- Understanding of the foundation of customer service; ability and willingness to deliver outstanding service to our passengers.

- Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities.

- Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality.

- Commitment to continuously display and deliver genuine care to our passengers and surprise and delight them throughout their cruise experience.

- Ability to adapt and adjust to a variety of circumstances.

The Bartender always:

- Provides—and coaches all junior staff to provide—an immediate positive first impression to every passenger through a warm, welcoming individual greeting.

- Consistently coaches staff to interact with every passenger, observe and identify passengers' preferences and adjust service accordingly, anticipate passengers' needs, and engage in conversation while showing genuine interest at all times.

- Always responds promptly—and coaches junior staff to respond promptly—to resolve passenger requests and concerns, following up with passengers as appropriate, and escalating/reporting to the Bar Supervisor as necessary.

- Regularly coaches staff to nurture a memorable connection with every passenger by remaining engaged through completion of service.

- Routinely highlights the lounge theme and/or any special offers associated with each lounge to passengers.

- Ensures that beverage service meets all Company standards at all times.

- Ensures that all beverages served are visually appealing and garnished according to the standards detailed in the Rolodex.

- Ensures that the assigned Bar location is always set up correctly and open for business according to Bar opening hours.

- Promptly performs all other duties as assigned by the Bar Supervisor and Bar management.

- Achieves specific daily Bar revenue targets set by Bar management without interfering with passengers' enjoyment of the Bar experience.

- Works closely and regularly with the Bar Supervisor to review daily revenue and Bar promotion results.

- Ensures that Bar staff charge all special events correctly including, but not limited to, 90000 accounts, Company-sponsored parties, interdepartmental events, and private parties.

- Ensures that all drinks served are immediately charged and recorded on the correct folio.

- Ensures that all open checks on Micros stations are charged and processed before the end of the day.

- Regularly conducts physical stock takes.

- Routinely and properly prepares all Bar items required for full beverage service.

- Always presents and maintains all areas immaculately including, but not limited to, lighting, ambience, menus, and table and chair set-up.

- Prepares requisitions for Bar stocks, liquor, foods, etc., as requested by the Bar Supervisor.

- Promptly communicates personnel problems to the Bar Supervisor and the Bar Manager.

- Routinely assists with customer service and product knowledge training for Junior Bar staff.

- Ensures that all Bar staff follow all Company uniform and grooming policies.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years previous work experience as Bartender on Cruise ships or minimum 4 years in international Hotels.

- Fluency in English.
